Species & Evolution
96 species in 32 families. Every family is one animal with three stages; nine regions each breed one type, and the Sunken Fang expedition adds four tide lines.
Each family is one animal with three stages. Below is every family, its role, and the final stage's base stats as HP/ATK/DEF/SPD — the numbers that define what the line is for. The earlier two stages are the same shape scaled down, at 46% and 72% of the final block.

Merchant Crossroads has no native species. Its encounters are drawn from Starter Ruins, Crimson Plain and Stormbay Docks — it is a crossroads in the literal sense.
Expedition tide Pokemax
The Sunken Fang Archipelago breeds four more evolution lines that exist nowhere else — 12 species that bring the catchable total to 96. They are tide-gated: the Driftfin and Shellwisp lines surface only at High Tide, the Coralisk and Sprigrove lines only atLow Tide, and both tides can be reached solely during an active expedition.

Roles
Every family is built to one of six shapes. The count is how many species carry it.
| Role | Species | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Sweeper | 24 | Highest speed, thin defence. Moves first, dies first. |
| Attacker | 18 | Heavy attack with enough bulk to take one hit back. |
| Allrounder | 18 | No hole anywhere, no spike either. |
| Wall | 12 | Enormous HP and defence, almost no speed. |
| Bulky | 6 | A wall that hits back. |
| Wallbreaker | 6 | The biggest attack numbers on the board, slow enough that you see it coming. |
Speed decides fights. Sweepers hit 133–138 base speed and win the turn. Walls sit at 35–55 and simply never go first — a wall only works if it survives the alpha strike, and against a super-effective STAB hit it will not.
