Primordial awakening
How to earn Resonance, awaken a supported final evolution and raise its level cap to 60.
A Primordial is your existing Pokemax awakened: it keeps its species and gains that species’ Primordial passive, plus a level cap of 60. It does not instantly jump from 50 to 60.
1. Choose an eligible partner
Use a supported final evolution at exactly level 50 and gather 10 Resonance for that exact species. Finish any battle, challenge or trade first; recover a captured partner from Team Comet and remove it from Gym defense if necessary. The awakening panel checks your current eligibility.
2. Earn Resonance by releasing compatible duplicates
A released Pokemax must be a supported species, not already Primordial, never traded, and have at least 45 total genes. Add HP + ATK + DEF + SPD (each ranges from 0 to 15). The gene threshold is for earning Resonance from release; it is not an extra awakening requirement for your chosen partner.
| Total genes | Resonance on release |
|---|---|
| 45–53 | 1 |
| 54–59 | 2 |
| 60 | 3 |
Resonance belongs to the exact supported final species. Releasing an earlier evolution does not give the final evolution’s Resonance. Release removes that Pokemax from your collection: review the confirmation carefully.
3. Train and use its passive
After awakening, train toward level 60. Normal stat growth continues; the passive is a separate combat effect. Greywood’s Oakenfort, Foragrove and Brackenmaw are not currently in the awakening catalog. Availability follows the game’s current feature setting.
